โณDeadlines, timeframes, and "how long does this even last?"
When preparing for a trip with your pet, the hardest part is not getting lost in the numbers. What's valid for a year, what's valid for 10 days, and what needs to be done three days before departure?
๐Ÿงฎ
Let's get this sorted out so nothing goes bad and you don't have to rush out at the last minute ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ’จ
๐Ÿ“˜ International Passport
Validity: ๐ŸŽ‰ forever
A passport is issued at a state veterinary clinic and remains with the pet for life. Like a microchip, it's a one-time, permanent device. It doesn't need to be replaced; just keep up-to-date on vaccination stickers.
๐Ÿ’‰ Titers (rabies antibody test)
Validity: ๐Ÿ”„ Lifetime, but with a twist
The titers themselves are given once in a lifetime. But there's a catch: they only remain valid if you regularly revaccinate your pet against rabies every year.
Missed a date? That's it, the credits "burn out" and you need to retake the test.๐Ÿ˜ข
๐Ÿ“Œ Important: After the blood draw, a 90-day quarantine is required. Only then can you leave.
๐Ÿ“„ Form F1 (veterinary certificate)
Valid for: โฐ only 3 days
The F1 certificate is issued at a state veterinary clinic and is only needed for one purpose: to exchange it for an international certificate.
Three days later, the certificate becomes invalid. So don't delay!
๐ŸŒ International Veterinary Certificate
Validity: ๐Ÿƒ 10 days
This is your main travel document. Once you receive it, you need to leave Ukraine within the next 10 days. Didn't make it? It all starts again: new F1, new certificate, new stress ๐Ÿ˜…
๐Ÿถ Rabies vaccination
Validity: ๐Ÿ“† exactly 1 year
Mandatory annual booster vaccinations. Without it:
โŒ titers are invalid;
โŒ passport is invalid;
โŒ travel is not possible.
Set a reminder on your phone!
โœจ Other vaccinations (against anything)
Validity period: ๐Ÿ“… from 6 months to 1 year
Depends on the vaccine and disease. Your veterinarian will usually advise you when to return for your next booster. It's important that all vaccinations are current upon departure.
๐Ÿ› Treatment for worms and ticks
Validity: โฑ 48โ€“72 hours before Form F1
This is very strict: processing is carried out 2โ€“3 days before Form F1 is received. No sooner, no later. Otherwise, your documents may not be accepted.
